For Group Portraits try to have everyone accessorize the same. Try to stay away from bright colors (red, orange, and yellow). Bright colors attract the viewer’s eye, and bright colors do not compliment your skin. Groups should all wear light colors (white, tan, and denim), or dark colors (black, navy, or burgundy). Dark colors can make you look smaller but flower patterns and strips can make you look bigger and they are very distracting. We recommend long sleeves and pants instead of short sleeves and shorts, with dark shoes and socks.
Try not to wear gaudy, or flashy jewelry, which takes away the viewers focus. Less is more when it comes to jewelry, but if the jewelry is a fashion statement, which fits your personality, then bring it to the session.
We recommend that if you decide to get a hair cut, you get it two weeks prior to the photo session. Sometimes haircuts and new hairdos never look there best that next day. Women may need extra time to practice new hairdos, and men may like it better when there hair grows out a little more. To make these Images more timeless, wear your hair how you naturally would, so we can represent you more closely. Match your hair to your outfit. Example, A fancy ballroom hairstyle with a tee shirt and jeans may be unorthodox.
We always recommend going to a professional for Make-up, but here are some tips. Wash with a Moisturizer. Apply Makeup in natural window light. Stay away from Mineral Make-up. Play up your eyes. Less is more when it comes to Eyeliner. Dont forget Mascara. Natural lips are most flattering. When selecting a Blush use a light natural color. Set the final look with a Translucent Powder.
